About A Worker was founded by Kim Hou and Paul Boulenger and is an innovative project paving the way for a new approach to fashion manufacturing, where the worker is at the center of the creative process. The duo met in 2011 in London during an academic exchange at Kingston University. Kim and Paul became friends through their shared passion for art, fashion, and design.
After working in different areas of the fashion industry, their complementary skills brought them together again in 2017 to establish About A Worker as a practical social and creative system. The project initially started as Kim's graduation project at the Design Academy of Eindhoven. Today, About A Worker functions as a traveling creative factory, collaborating with workers, brands, production companies, and cultural institutions worldwide—including Lacoste, Lafayette, Adidas, Beaux-Arts, and Palais de Tokyo.

About A Worker wurde von Kim Hou und Paul Boulenger gegründet und ist ein innovatives Projekt, das einen neuen Ansatz in der Modeherstellung verfolgt – mit dem Arbeiter im Mittelpunkt des kreativen Prozesses.
Das Duo lernte sich 2011 in London während eines akademischen Austauschs an der Kingston University kennen. Durch ihre gemeinsame Leidenschaft für Kunst, Mode und Design wurden sie Freunde. Nach Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Bereichen der Bekleidungsbranche brachte ihre Komplementarität sie 2017 wieder zusammen, um About A Worker als praktisches, soziales und kreatives System ins Leben zu rufen.
Das Projekt begann als Kims Abschlussarbeit an der Design Academy Eindhoven und hat sich mittlerweile zu einer reisenden Kreativfabrik entwickelt. About A Worker arbeitet mit Arbeitern, Marken, Produktionsunternehmen und Kultureinrichtungen auf der ganzen Welt zusammen – unter anderem mit Lacoste, Lafayette, Adidas, Beaux-Arts und dem Palais de Tokyo.

Il duo si è conosciuto nel 2011 a Londra, durante un programma di scambio accademico presso la Kingston University. Uniti dalla passione comune per l’arte, la moda e il design, sono diventati amici. Dopo aver maturato esperienze in vari settori dell’industria dell’abbigliamento, nel 2017 hanno deciso di collaborare nuovamente per fondare About A Worker, un sistema pratico, sociale e creativo.
Il progetto ha avuto origine come tesi di laurea di Kim presso la Design Academy Eindhoven, per poi trasformarsi in un vero e proprio laboratorio creativo itinerante. About A Worker collabora con lavoratori, brand, aziende di produzione e istituzioni culturali in tutto il mondo, tra cui Lacoste, Lafayette, Adidas, Beaux-Arts e Palais de Tokyo.
