Stefano Riba
In 2002 I began working with art as a technician and installer. Back then, while I was physically working in setting up and dismantling shows in galleries and museums, I was also undertaking research for my Bachelors and Masters in Aesthetics. This mental and physical attitude towards art practice has never abandoned me. Today I am a curator, but also a professional art installer; I am a writer but also an artists' assistant; I am a gallerist but also a craftsman. In the past decade I worked at/for: Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Museum Ludwig Köln, Fondazione Merz, Castello di Rivoli, Museion, Ar/Ge Kunst, Hangar Bicocca, Manifesta 9 Genk, Biennale di Venezia, Galleria Giorgio Persano, Galleria Michela Rizzo, Galeria Marso. I wrote articles and reviews for Flash Art, Alias, Il Manifesto, Artribune. In 2012 I was co-founder of PrintAboutMe Micro-Press, an independent publishing house, in the same year I founded VAN DER, a kind of commercial gallery. Since 2014 I curate Passi Erratici, a yearly show about art and mountain that takes place every July at the National Mountain Museum in Turin. I live between Turin and Bozen.
